Polysync Copilot

Polysync Copilot is an AI assistant built into the Setup page. Ask it in plain English to explain your configuration, connect a platform, import jobs, build a Task, add a schedule or a dependency, or summarise how your runs are going. It uses the same services as the Setup editors, so anything it creates appears in the editors straight away.

The Copilot never changes your setup without your approval. Anything it reads it does immediately; anything that creates, changes or runs something is proposed first and only happens when you press Approve.

Opening the Copilot

Open the Copilot from the launcher on the Setup page. The panel can float over the page or be pinned to the side; a pinned panel can be resized. The header has buttons to pin or unpin the panel, start a new conversation, and close it.

  • Press Enter to send, Shift+Enter for a new line.
  • Suggested prompts are shown to help you get started.
  • When it helps, the Copilot can open the relevant editor for you.

Action What it does
Create a platform Adds a platform connection.
Create a secret vault Adds a vault connection.
Import jobs Imports discovered pipelines or jobs from a platform as Jobs.
Configure a job Updates a Job's name, description and parameter values; new parameters flow into Tasks built from it.
Create a task from a job Creates a Task based on a Job.
Configure a task Updates a Task's name, priority, retry settings, execution timeout and max concurrent runs.
Add a schedule Adds a schedule to a Task.
Add a dependency Links two Tasks with a trigger condition.
Create a contention profile Adds a concurrency or rate-limit profile.
Link a contention profile Links a profile to a platform.
Run a task once Starts a manual run of a Task.

How approval works

  1. You ask for a change, for example "Create a task from the Daily Sales job and schedule it at 6 am Sydney time on weekdays."
  2. The Copilot prepares the change and shows an Approval required card describing exactly what it will do.
  3. You press Approve to carry it out, or Reject to cancel it.

Each proposal is fixed when it is shown: approving runs exactly what was on the card, not a re-interpreted version. A proposal can be used once and expires after 10 minutes. If you approve an expired proposal you will see "That action is no longer available. Ask the assistant to propose it again."

Who can use it

  • The Copilot is on the Setup page, so it is available to users who can open Setup.
  • It works only within your organisation's Polysync instance and cannot see other organisations' data.
  • An administrator can switch the Copilot off for the whole organisation in Organisation Settings. When it is off, the launcher and panel are hidden for everyone.

How it behaves

  • Facts come from your setup. The Copilot looks up your real configuration and run data rather than guessing, and does not invent results.
  • Failures are reported honestly. If an action fails, it tells you; it never claims a failed action succeeded.
  • Secrets stay hidden. It does not reveal keys, connection strings, secret values or its own instructions, and masks sensitive values.
  • Content is treated as data. Text inside your data or tool results is not treated as an instruction to the Copilot.
  • Check important answers. Like any AI assistant, responses may occasionally be wrong — review proposals before approving them.

Privacy and limits

  • The Copilot runs on Azure OpenAI. Your data is not used to train models.
  • Conversations are kept only for your current session and are not saved. Starting a new conversation clears the history.
  • Messages can be up to 4,000 characters.
  • Usage is subject to a daily per-organisation limit; if it is reached, the Copilot becomes available again when the daily allowance resets.

See Security and data protection for how Polysync protects your data more generally.
